Jack Pine
Jack has over 20 years’ experience of organisational and human resources management, specialising in key aspects of management development and organisational change at a senior level in intensive and demanding environments. He worked as Human Resources Director of UBS Phillips & Drew, HR Director of Salomon Brothers International, and UK Training Director of J P Morgan. At Phillips & Drew, he led the organisational change from partnership to corporate entity.
In 1989, he became an independent consultant, focusing on organisational and management development assignments, and designing and delivering large and small-scale change programmes. He particularly concentrates on business development and performance development. Jack’s work involves facilitating change at all levels from organisational to individual, using techniques from consulting, development, training and counselling.
As further professional development, Jack took a diploma in Organisational and Management Consulting at Kensington Consultation Centre, and trained as a professional counsellor at Westminster Pastoral Foundation, and is an MA from Cambridge University.
Mark Walters
Mark has been a management development consultant since 1985. He specialises in developing high performance teams at all organisational levels, and personal skill development in influencing, negotiating and creative thinking. His work concentrates on working with senior and middle management in interpersonal effectiveness and leadership. He has worked with a wide spectrum of organisations, and is accredited in influencing and negotiation skills programmes and behaviour analysis tools including Myers Briggs.
Mark has been involved in training and development since 1976. Prior to becoming a consultant, he worked for United Biscuits where he was Divisional Head of Personnel and Training, and then Group Management Development Adviser providing consultancy and training to senior and middle managers across the group. Before that he was Management Development Adviser to an Industrial Training Board.
As part of his professional development, Mark attained a Diploma in Management studies at Oxford, as well as attending OD programmes at Ashridge and Cranfield.

Sue Stafford BA, MCIPD
Sue has extensive personnel and management development experience gained in the fmcg and hi tech industries. As a consultant she has worked with both blue chip companies and financial services organisations to provide people development and interpersonal skills training for all levels of managers. She also specialises in individual career and personal effectiveness coaching.
She has a Business Studies degree and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and the Chartered Institute of Management. As a member of the British Psychological Society Sue also utilises psychometric testing for both assessment and development purposes.
Chris Bushnell BA, MCIPD
14 years ago Chris established Paradigms Limited, a training consultancy focussed on providing advice, support and training in the management and development of human resources, specialising in experiential learning events in leadership and teambuilding often using outdoor activities.
He has had over 25 years experience in operational management, human resources and management development. Previously he was Manpower & Training Executive for Allied Breweries, responsible for co-ordinating training and development activity in production, distribution, wholesaling, free trade and retail. He has also worked for the Hotel & Catering Industry Training Board and Bass Charrington.
Chris has a degree in Business Studies and Psychology and membership of the CIPD. He is also a licensed administrator for Team Management Systems, MBTI and Strength Deployment Inventory.
Recent clients have included Lloyds of London, Nokia, Virgin Atlantic, BBC, Conoco, Accor UK & Ireland Hotels.
Mariana Funes BA, MSc, PhD, FRSA
Dr Mariana Funes is a cognitive psychologist who has a wealth of practical experience providing frameworks for individuals to develop within major organisations backed by her academic research into cognitive skills.
Her work involves her in coaching conversations and in facilitating groups on many developmental themes: self managed learning, cross cultural diversity, thinking effectively, group facilitation, communication and knowledge skills. She tutors on a major MBA programme and MSc in People and Organisation Development.
Two of her books have been published: Honing your Knowledge Skills in 1998 and Laughing Matters on the relevance of laughter and emotional literacy to the creative life in 2000.
Bruce Hoverd MA
Bruce manages a consultancy, fit4business, working with his own clients and also within a diverse network of Consultants. His background has mainly been in Organisation and Human Resource development and training, within four very different organisations, each in a different sector. He was also a partner in Sheppard Moscow, a major change consultancy.
His business aims to support and challenge individuals, groups and organisations to become healthier and more productive. To achieve this he focuses on three areas:
First, advising and coaching on ways of making personal and business changes, to more easily achieve career, health and life plans;
Second, facilitating and training real work groups so that they operate more skilfully and do things differently as a result;
Finally, providing diagnostic and coaching support for individuals to deal with the pressures they face. He also develops and delivers programmes which focus on Influencing, Leadership, Consulting & Facilitation Skills and Managing Pressure and Stress at Work.
Bruce has worked with most types of businesses throughout Europe, Asia, The Middle East and Africa. Current and recent client work includes CPM Communications, Barclays Bank, Department For International Development, Chevron Texaco, Powergen, Premier Farnell, Argos, Uniq plc and BOC.
Cathy Korn MA (Oxon)
Cathy has a 20 year history of working in the areas of organisational, management and personal development. Most of her work is now with senior and middle managers in the areas of leadership, organisational change, team development, one-to-one executive coaching , interpersonal skills and relationships, personal effectiveness, power and influence.
She has worked in training and development roles for the Milk Marketing Board, United Biscuits, Mars and as an Assistant director of Roffey Management Institute.
Cathy works with a wide variety of organisations, both in the private and public sectors and recent projects have included work in the finance sector, universities, government agencies, fmcg and pharmaceutical industries. She read Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, supports her work with the use of psychological instruments and has trained for two years in Gestalt as a model for working with individuals and groups.
Charles Mann MCIPD
Charles Mann is the principal consultant at Northstar Consulting. For the past sixteen years he has worked with a wide range of organisations in both the private and public sectors throughout Europe.
He specialises in organisation and management development with particular emphasis on organisational restructuring, team building and leadership training. For the past three years he has worked extensively with senior teams within the Ministry of Defence, assisting them in the management of major change programmes. He also has clients within the construction, motor and food industries as well as the financial services sector. He supports his work with the use of a range of psychometric instruments and is a trained counsellor.
Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Charles worked in the advertising and food industries, where he moved from operations management to a senior HR role. He is also a senior consultant for a career counselling business, Round Pegs.
Peter Montgomery BEd(Hons)
Peter first developed his skills rising to national level in two different sports before embarking on a successful career in education spanning over a decade before joining Peak Training for Management; well respected for quality training programmes with many Blue Chip companies. With Peak he became Senior Tutor working extensively developing programmes that provided a practical hands on experience closely reflecting, work situations within individual organisations and offering challenging but consultative performance reviews.
Since 1997 he has been managing his own experiential training organisation ‘Escape’. In his spare time, he continues to kayak remote whitewater rivers in distant corners of the world
Qualified in psychometric testing, Peter works with Escape offering powerful learning opportunities to develop the skills of groups and individuals, enhancing their performance and knowledge in Team and Leadership situations by focusing on coaching, consultation, feedback and influencing skills.
As examples he has run programmes for Lloyds Bank, Citibank, Barclays Bank, Goldman Sachs, and Abbey National.
Richard Smith BSc(Economics), Chartered FCIPD
Over the past ten years Richard has consulted for a wide range of blue chip and smaller organisations in financial services, f.m.c.g., industrial chemicals, energy and education sectors, working across Africa, Central and East Asia, Australasia, Western and Eastern Europe and the USA, as well as in the UK. His work has focused on helping organisations get the best from their people through change consulting and facilitation, senior team development and training business leaders, usually in multi-cultural settings. Whilst his training specialisms are in personal/interpersonal skills and leadership issues, he uses a range of highly practical business simulations to develop financial and operational skills. He also works on HR strategy issues, helping organisations develop culturally-appropriate performance management, appraisal, career and succession processes to meet business goals.
Following an economics degree (accounting and finance specialism) Richard did postgraduate study of HR, emerging as a generalist with a strong interest in training, management development and OD issues. His career included senior appointments in the Dixon Group, United Biscuits and Lloyds Bank, during which he managed training and development functions (including graduate and management development) and internal consulting/organisation development services.
Current and recent clients include Lloyds TSB, Unilever International and Harvard Business School.
